Community Development

How It’s Going: Update

The after-school program is rescheduled for November, and I am excited to learn that we picked up a second school district. We need kids to sign up. A link to the group is provided.

Topics in the program include artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, drones, digital fabrication, coding, media production, design studio, blockchain, and crypto are presented alongside sports events and fitness resources. Verticals Youth Empowerment Center is designed to stimulate young minds, give parents an inclusive environment in which to socialize, and to offer youth a sense of pride in themselves and their community. I am really excited to be a part of the team.

Holiday Delay

Halloween is a big deal for my kids. I enjoy the holiday, too. I schedule errands, planning, and executive housekeeping decisions during this week. November is going to be interesting. The weather has been fitful and overcast of late. Autumnal showers relieve the woodlands of their fiery garb.

Executive Hosekeeping

I want to eventually hire people and expand a serviceable client base. I have a plan for positions to fill. Eventually, a partnership with a mechanical engineer and a programmer will coalesce within Orion Drones. I received my labor poster kit this week! I am working on accounting this week. My previous company was converted into a non-profit for research which is tangential to drone technology. That means paperwork and patience.

Consider the value of a formal restructuring. Legally, an entrepreneur runs into the issue of old-company reticence in a virtual structure. SEO efforts, old media and marketing resources, old profiles on social media all need to sequestered and removed by degrees. People over the years may still associate a person with a defunct company despite years of work to solidify the contrary. People lose touch. It takes time working solo. As part of this new economic weather pattern, my previous commercial entities in the form of SEO efforts that landed me on mailers, old media, even old postcards and such will continue to occasionally rain upon Orion Drones the odd robocall or service request. Finding daylight has required some regulatory support and validation in the event that any confusion may arise.

My old company was reincorporated as a non-profit focused on research. Paper to push, fees to pay.

Drone builds

  • Shopping fixed wing build kits. I need experience with that type of aircraft.
  • Have decided to finish the drone despite a lack of acceptable employment.

Studying for PE Exams

  • Studying for computer science and electronics licensure, then I go after a mechanical engineering exam. This could take a while.

Job Hunt

  • Continuing to grow audience for my quaint 2018 thesis on medical drone service integration, still netting the ‘top award’ for reads of material published byCal U students on Researchgate.net.
  • In contact with recruiters, willing to adapt to new challenges.
